Breanna Stewart recorded 20 points and 12 rebounds to power the Seattle Storm to an 87-70 victory over the reeling Indiana Fever on Tuesday in Indianapolis.
The Storm (11-2) earned their fourth consecutive win while handing the Fever (1-12) an eighth straight defeat.
Stewart, who was named the Western Conference Player of the Week on Monday, made 9 of 17 shots from the floor. The 2018 WNBA MVP scored 28 points in Seattle's 88-73 victory over Indiana on June 1.
Jewell Loyd scored 10 of her 18 points in the first quarter for the Storm, who improved to 6-0 on the road after winning the first four contests on their current five-game trek. Seattle concludes the road trip with a game against Indiana on Thursday.
Seattle's Sue Bird, who finished with 17 points, made a 3-pointer in the second quarter to move past Katie Smith (906) into second place all-time in WNBA history. Bird converted twice more from beyond the arc in the fourth quarter to give her 909 career 3-pointers, a total that trails only Phoenix Mercury star Diana Taurasi's 1,173.
Storm forward Candice Dupree added four points off the bench while playing in her 481st career game, which is fifth most in NBA history. She moved past Lindsay Whalen on the list and resides one shy of tying Smith for fourth place.
Kelsey Mitchell scored 26 points for the Fever, who shot 3-for-17 (17.6 percent) from 3-point range.
Loyd, who had 18 points in the previous meeting with Indiana, made two quick 3-pointers to ignite a fast start for Seattle. Stewart also converted from beyond the arc as the Storm claimed a 25-16 lead after the opening period.
Indiana, however, trimmed its deficit to six points on five different occasions in the third before Seattle went on a 9-2 run. Loyd scored five points and to help push the Storm's lead to 57-44.
Jessica Breland sank a jumper to trim the Fever's deficit to 66-57 with 7:18 remaining in the fourth quarter. Seattle, however, went on an 11-0 run to seal the victory.
