Quinten Post scored 20 points and grabbed a game-high 19 rebounds to help Boston College remain unbeaten with a 73-64 victory over Harvard on Saturday night in Chestnut Hill, Mass.
Post made eight of his 18 field-goal attempts, and eight of his 19 rebounds came at the offensive end.
BC (4-0) received 19 points from Claudell Harris Jr. and 18 from Jaeden Zackery. It's the first time the Eagles have started a season 4-0 since 2007-08.
It was the first loss for Harvard (4-1), which was coming off Friday night's 78-75 overtime victory at UMass.
The Crimson's Chisom Okpara tossed in a team-high 20 points and had seven rebounds. Freshman guard Malik Mack finished with 18 points, six assists and five rebounds. Mack scored 32 points in Friday night's win.
Harvard led by 10, 43-33, after Mack made a jumper with 17:20 left in the game, but BC responded with a 13-0 run to take a 46-43 lead with 14:51 remaining. Two Mack free throws tied the game at 56-56 with 8:32 to go, but a Mason Madsen layup put BC in front 58-56, and the Eagles never trailed after that.
Harvard was within 62-61 after a Louis Lesmond jumper with 4:16 remaining, but BC went on a 7-0 spurt to take a 69-61 advantage.
Neither team shot well. Harvard was 24 of 61 from the field (39.3 percent), while Boston College was 28 of 73 (38.4 percent).
Despite committing 10 turnovers in the first 20 minutes, the Crimson had a 35-33 lead at halftime. The Eagles shot 14 of 36 (38.9 percent) from the floor in the half, including 2 of 11 from 3-point range.
The Eagles used an 8-0 run to take an 18-10 lead, but Harvard responded by scoring the next 13 points and had a 23-18 edge following a Chandler Pigge 3-pointer with 9:02 remaining in the first half.
The victory gave BC a 36-16 advantage in the all-time series.
