The Vegas Golden Knights ruled out team captain Mark Stone for Tuesday's game against the host Buffalo Sables due to a left arm injury.
The winger was hit on the upper left arm with a stick during a neutral zone check by Penguins defenseman Kris Letang late in the first period of Pittsburgh's 5-0 home win on Sunday.
'We'll keep him as day-to-day,' Vegas coach Bruce Cassidy said on Tuesday. 'He's in here getting treatment but won't play tonight.'
Stone, 33, is second on the Golden Knights with 60 points (21 goals, 39 assists). He also has a team-best plus-17 rating as well as nine penalty minutes, 35 blocks and 17 hits with 19:15 average ice time in 43 games this season.
An All-Star in 2022, Stone recorded four points (two goals, two assists) in six games as Team Canada captured the silver medal at the Milan Cortina Olympics last month in Italy.
For his career, Stone has 694 points (252 goals, 442 assists), a plus-158 rating, 238 penalty minutes, 525 blocks and 512 hits in 749 regular-season games for the Ottawa Senators (2012-19) and Golden Knights.
He also has 85 points (41 goals, 44 assists) and a plus-8 rating in 112 postseason games, including the Golden Knights' run to the Stanley Cup championship in 2023.
The Golden Knights recalled forward Raphael Lavoie on Tuesday from AHL affiliate Henderson. Lavoie played nine games for Vegas last season and seven for the Edmonton Oilers in 2023-24 and has not recorded a point.
