Matt Olson's two-run single sparked a three-run rally in the eighth inning and helped the visiting Atlanta Braves beat the Miami Marlins 8-4 on Tuesday.
Olson was 2-for-3 with a double, two walks and three RBIs, as Atlanta rallied against reliever Calvin Faucher (4-3) to even the four-game series at a game apiece.
With the score tied 4-4, the Braves loaded the bases and took the lead when first baseman Christopher Morel backhanded Mauricio Dubon's sharp grounder but could not make a play at second base or first base. Mike Yastrzemski, who had walked, scored on the fielder's choice.
Olson followed with the opposite-field single to left field, giving him 41 RBIs, tied for second in the league.
The Braves added an insurance run on Ha-Seong Kim's RBI single in the ninth off Lake Bachar.
The winning pitcher was Dylan Lee (2-0), who threw 1 1/3 scoreless innings. Robert Suarez worked a scoreless eighth and Raisel Iglesias pitched a scoreless ninth in a non-save situation.
Atlanta starter Martin Perez worked five innings and allowed four runs on five hits and two walks. The veteran struck out a career-best 10 batters.
Miami starter Braxton Garrett survived a shaky beginning and pitched three innings. He allowed two runs on three hits and three walks, striking out two.
Atlanta scored twice in the opening frame on a sacrifice fly from Ozzie Albies and an RBI single from Michael Harris II. But the Marlins, who scored 12 runs in a shutout win on Monday, put up three runs in the bottom of the first on a leadoff homer from Xavier Edwards, his sixth, and a two-run double by Kyle Stowers.
The Marlins added a sacrifice fly from Esteury Ruiz in the third inning to take a 4-2 lead.
Atlanta scored a run in the fifth on doubles by Ronald Acuna Jr. and Olson, then tied the game 4-4 in the sixth on Harris' 421-foot homer to center, his ninth.
Atlanta was without catcher Drake Baldwin, who was placed on the injured list with a right oblique strain.
