Jose Altuve tagged up and scored on a popup to shallow center field in the top of the 10th inning as the Houston Astros rallied for a 5-4 victory over the Los Angeles Angels in the opening game of a three-game series on Monday night in Anaheim, Calif.Christian Walker went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs and Cam Smith doubled twice and drove in a run for Houston, which picked its third win in four games. Josh Hader (1-0) struck out the side in the ninth and Bryan Abreu pitched a scoreless 10th for his fourth save.Zach Neto homered for the third straight game, Logan O'Hoppe doubled and drove in two runs and Trey Mancini, called up from Triple-A Salt Lake City earlier in the day, went 3-for-4 with a RBI and a run for Los Angeles. Sam Aldegheri (1-1) gave up the tiebreaking run.The Astros then took their first lead in the top of the 10th. Altuve started the inning as the automatic runner at second, went to third on a bunt single up the third base line by Brice Matthews and scored on a popup by Jake Meyers to shallow center when Madrigal's accurate one-hop throw to the plate bounced past O'Hoppe, who was charged for an error on the play.The Angels had a chance to tie it in the bottom of the 10th when Jose Siri led off with a single to left but Matthews gunned down automatic runner Mike Trout at the plate.Los Angeles took a 3-0 lead in the second against Astros starter Spencer Arrighetti. Jo Adell was hit by a pitch to open the inning, advanced to second on a single by Madrigal and scored on a single by Mancini, who was playing his first major league game in 1,069 days. One out later, O'Hoppe lined a double down the left field line, driving in Madrigal and Mancini.Houston cut the lead to 3-1 in the third when Yordan Alvarez reached base on an error by Trout and scored on a double by Walker.The Astros tied it 3-3 in the sixth. Isaac Paredes led off with a double down the left field line and scored one out later on a double to right by LaMonte Wade Jr., who pulled up and exited the game with right hamstring soreness, per the Astros. Matthews pinch-ran for Wade and then scored on a double into the left field corner by Smith.Neto put Los Angeles back in front, 4-3, in the seventh with his 13th home run of the season, a 395-foot drive to left-center just over the glove of a leaping Matthews.Houston tied it in the ninth when Jeremy Pena led off with a walk, stole second and scored on a single by Walker off Kirby Yates.--Field Level Media
