Sebastian Rivero drove in a career high six runs with five hits, Jo Adell had a home run among his four hits and the visiting Los Angeles Angels avoided a season sweep at the hands of the Los Angeles Dodgers with a 13-5 victory on Sunday.
Zach Neto hit a three-run home run and Jose Siri drove in a pair of runs as the Angels won after opening 0-5 against the Dodgers. The bottom four hitters in the Angels' lineup finished the game 13-for-15 with four walks.
Right-hander Jose Soriano (7-4) gave up five runs (four earned) on eight hits over six innings to win for the first time in five starts.
Dalton Rushing hit a three-run home run among his four hits and Ryan Ward added a home run for the Dodgers, who are now 11-4 since May 23.
Dodgers right-hander Emmet Sheehan (3-3) never made it out of the second inning, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks while recording four outs. It was a rare rough start for the Dodgers' rotation, which entered with a major league-leading 2.86 ERA.
The Angels had the bases loaded with two outs in the second inning when Rivero blooped a two-run single into center field against Sheehan for a 2-0 lead.
The Dodgers cut the deficit in half in the third on a Kyle Tucker groundout.
The Angels had runners at second and third with one out in the fourth when Rivero again dunked a base hit toward center field for a 4-1 lead.
Siri gave the Angels yet another two-run bloop hit to the outfield with two outs and the bases loaded in the fifth for a 6-1 lead.
The Dodgers received back-to-back home runs in the sixth from Rushing and Ward to pull within 6-5. The Angels put the game away with six runs in the seventh, including a 433-foot home run from Adell, another RBI hit from Rivero and Neto's three-run blast.
The Angels' Nick Madrigal walked in his first three at-bats, including one on a 14-pitch plate appearance in the second inning and another on a 12-pitch battle in the fifth. He added a single.
Rivero finished with a run-scoring double in the ninth for his sixth RBI after he entered with eight career RBIs in 67 games.
