Quarterback Jacoby Brissett will attend the three-day mandatory minicamp with the Arizona Cardinals scheduled to begin on Monday.
The expected starter, Brissett remains at odds with the Cardinals over his contract and skipped voluntary workouts in the spring. By reporting to camp, Brissett can spare himself $107,911 in fines Arizona could assess as a penalty for his three-day absence.
Attending minicamp does not mean Brissett, 33, plans to fully participate. According to ESPN, he's still looking for an adjusted contract that reflects his status as the Cardinals' likely QB1 and guaranteed money beyond this season.
Brissett's current contract expires at the end of the 2026 season. His deal is worth $4.88 million in 2026 or up to $5.39 million with incentives. However, only $1.5 million is guaranteed.
Journeyman Gardner Minshew, signed by Arizona in the spring, is guaranteed $5.14 million for this season.
According to the ESPN report, a new contract for Brissett is not imminent.
Though not viewed as one of the NFL's top signal-callers, Brissett had a solid 2025, especially after taking over when starter Kyler Murray was benched. He threw for 3,366 yards with 23 touchdowns and eight interceptions in 14 games (12 starts). All three numbers were career-high marks for Brissett.
In 10 seasons with six teams, Brissett has completed 61.9% of his passes for 14,766 yards, 76 touchdowns and 32 interceptions.
The Cardinals have since parted ways with Murray, releasing the top overall pick in the 2019 draft and two-time Pro Bowl selection on March 3. Nine days later, the Minnesota Vikings signed the 28-year-old.
